Community Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community and Safety Officer to join our dynamic team at South Gloucestershire Council.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in our community by leading priority work areas, managing projects, and delivering community safety services. As a Community and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for safeguarding vulnerable victims and communities through effective action.
Key Responsibilities- Lead co-ordinated multi-agency responses to complex cases of anti-social behaviour and situations that cause community tensions.
- Carry out investigations, identify support needs, co-ordinate the responses of other agencies, implement early interventions, and work with partners to take enforcement action when necessary.
- Build relationships and influence a wide range of agencies and community groups to respond to community safety priorities.
- Work with a wide range of agencies both internally and externally, including voluntary and community groups, to address community safety.
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Relevant specialist knowledge of identified community safety priorities, backed by evidence of practical experience in developing and implementing actions in response to these.
- Knowledge of the anti-social behaviour tools and powers available to local authorities, and experience of using these effectively in practice.
- Experience of using project management techniques to develop and manage projects to a successful conclusion.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and engage successfully with community groups and partner organisations.
