Strategic Procurement Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to join our team at ISQ Recruitment. As a Senior Buyer, you will play a key role in managing the procurement of core commodities, developing supplier relationships, negotiating terms, and ensuring a reliable supply chain to support production and engineering needs.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Procurement Strategies: Develop and implement procurement strategies for core commodities, including metals and electronics, to ensure cost efficiency and quality standards.
- Manage Sourcing and Supplier Relationships: Manage sourcing, supplier selection, and contract negotiation processes to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to align supplier capabilities with company standards and ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Monitor Market Trends: Monitor market trends to make informed purchasing decisions and mitigate risks.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier performance to achieve business objectives.
Requirements:
- Experience: 5+ years in a senior buying or procurement role, ideally within the engineering or manufacturing sector.
- Commodity Knowledge: Expertise in metals and electronic components procurement.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong skills in assessing supplier performance and market trends.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Driving Licence: A valid UK driving licence and access to a car are essential due to the location.
