About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Head Grounds Person to join our team at Frasers Group. As a key member of our grounds maintenance team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Grounds Person in the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the stadium professional playing pitch at CBS Arena.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Grounds Person in planning, implementing, and evaluating the professional pitch and related work, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Uphold ground standards by effectively managing all grounds activities to consistently achieve recognized standards and availability for the stadium.
  • Ensure health and safety by managing and checking facilities, plant, buildings, and equipment to ensure safe working practices and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Manage equipment maintenance, servicing, and storage to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Assist in the renovation of hybrid and natural pitches using associated equipment, such as tractors, trailers, sand spreaders, and seeders.
  • Operate a range of machinery for maintenance and renovation of grassed areas, including ride-on, pedestrian mowers, turf cutters, edgers, and scarification equipment.
  • Analyze trend data and gather information to develop insights on past usage and optimize grounds maintenance strategies.

Requirements

  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 or above in green keeping and groundsmanship or equivalent.
  • Spraying certificates PA1, 2, and 6 (desirable).
  • Experience in all aspects of grounds maintenance, including hybrid, artificial surfaces, and horticulture.
  • Experience in using turf care equipment and managing pitch lighting systems.
  • Competent IT skills and experience in managing irrigation systems.
  • Proven experience in managing teams, planning workloads, allocating duties, and monitoring performance.
  • Good mechanical knowledge of equipment and ability to assist with routine maintenance.
  • Ability to use a wide range of turf care equipment.
