About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Leader to join our team at Warburtons, a leading bakery brand in the UK. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading a small team of Multi-Skilled Engineers to drive the effectiveness of the engineering team in reducing downtime and increasing productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, develop, and engage a small team of 3 Multi-Skilled Engineers to achieve engineering KPIs.
  • Ensure daily preventative maintenance activities are completed to a high standard, breakdowns are resolved quickly and efficiently to maximise plant reliability, performance, product quality, and safety.
  • Lead the short interval control meetings with our production team to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Work within the framework of a Business-led engineering reliability strategy to drive continuous improvement.
  • Effective use of SAP PM to manage maintenance activities and track performance.
  • Maintain equipment in line with relevant food safety legislation to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Support the recruitment, motivation, and development of an engineering team to ensure they achieve the goals and targets agreed in their role profiles and performance review meetings.
Requirements
  • Structured and practical engineering training (e.g. apprenticeship/HNC/degree).
  • Knowledge and experience of maintenance preferably in an FMCG environment.
  • H&S knowledge (e.g., PUWER, IOSH) to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Basic PLC experience and fault-finding diagnostics (Allen Bradley) would be desirable.
  • Electrical and Mechanical engineering experience.
  • IT and PC knowledge to use widespread functions within relevant software (Inc Office and SAP).
  • Effective communication and leadership skills to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills to develop and train others.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to anticipate and resolve issues.
  • Project management skills to create effective plans and monitor progress.
