Job Overview
We are seeking a Lead Clinical Psychologist to become a vital part of our Older Adult Community Treatment Team. This position is ideal for professionals passionate about supporting elderly individuals facing both cognitive and emotional health challenges.
This role is open to experienced Clinical Psychologists as well as newly qualified candidates interested in a structured development pathway towards an advanced role.
Developmental Opportunity:
The position offers a comprehensive support system for progression to a higher band upon successful completion of a defined development program. This pathway is expected to last between 18 months to 2 years, depending on the candidate's prior experience. The organization will provide extensive supervision, continuous professional development, and training opportunities throughout this period. Should the developmental objectives not be fully met within the agreed timeframe, the position will remain at the initial band level, managed in accordance with the contract terms established at the beginning.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Lead Psychologist in a well-established multi-disciplinary team, you will be tasked with delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychological evaluations, neuropsychological assessments, treatment formulations, and therapeutic interventions for older adults.
You will take the lead in psychological services through consultations, multidisciplinary team meetings, and supervision. Your role will also involve providing guidance, consultation, and training to colleagues and non-professional caregivers regarding psychological aspects of assessment, formulation, care, and treatment.
Demonstrating leadership and service enhancement skills will be essential in this role.
In the advanced role, you will operate independently within professional guidelines and the overarching framework of the service's policies and procedures. You will oversee the supervision of other Psychologists, Trainee and Assistant Psychologists, as well as community practitioner clinicians. Regular supervision and continuous professional development opportunities will also be part of your role.
