About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Devon Partnership NHS Trust. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychological care to children and young people experiencing significant and complex mental health difficulties and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide evidence-based interventions to children and young people with complex mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive care to children and young people.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that address the unique needs of each child or young person, taking into account their individual circumstances and goals.
  • Provide consultation, clinical supervision, and training to other healthcare professionals to enhance their skills and knowledge in working with children and young people with complex mental health needs.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote best practice in the delivery of psychological services to children and young people.
Requirements
  • Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent qualification.
  • Post-qualification specialist therapy/assessment training relevant to children and young people.
  • Experience of working with a range of children and young people with complex needs, maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems.
  • Experience of undertaking specialist psychological assessments and providing evidence-based interventions, with the ability to work with complex needs and undertake risk assessments.
  • Experience in providing teaching and training, as well as safeguarding children and ensuring the safety of young people in partnership with other agencies as appropriate.
  • Ability to work in a way that promotes anti-discriminatory practice and attends to diversity.
