About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at LiveWest. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide holistic support to veterans, including assistance with managing tenancies, benefits, and daily living tasks.
  • Work closely with referral partners, including Operation Fortitude, to assess needs and risks and ensure the service is suitable for prospective customers.
  • Conduct Risk and Needs Assessments and Support Plans to ensure effective support is provided.
  • Liaise with other professionals, including healthcare providers and social services, to ensure a comprehensive support network.
  • Assist with caseload management and maintain accurate records.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role or lived experience of supporting vulnerable individuals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues.
  • Accurate record keeping and computer skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Resilience and adaptability in a challenging environment.
  • Knowledge of welfare and housing benefits, as well as safeguarding procedures.
