Nuclear Safety Engineer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer to join our team at Rullion Ltd.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking qualitative and quantitative hazard analysis assessments, radiological hazard assessments, and producing safety case reports. They will also be required to carry out ALARP assessments, provide support to engineering substantiation activities, and liaise with regulatory organisations when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake qualitative and quantitative hazard analysis assessments to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Conduct radiological hazard assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Produce high-quality safety case reports to support engineering substantiation activities.
- Carry out ALARP assessments to ensure that safety measures are proportionate to the risks involved.
- Provide technical support to engineering teams and mentor junior staff to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Liaise with regulatory organisations to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Develop and review safety management arrangements to ensure that they are effective and up-to-date.
- Manage and lead safety case activities and teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in safety within nuclear, defense, or another highly regulated industry. They will also have a honours degree or equivalent in physics, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline, and be chartered or working towards chartered status. In addition, they will be able to produce and review high-quality technical reports, lead technical teams, and mentor junior staff.
