Job Title: Hydraulics Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Hydraulics Engineer to join our team at RSD Technology in Port Talbot, South Wales.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating hydraulics maintenance activities, working closely with the Pipe Services Team to support hydraulic maintenance across all areas of CRP.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and improve the safety and reliability of hydraulic systems within CRP, minimizing production delays.
  • Manage activities carried out by Tata engineering craft and contractors.
  • Assist in reducing hydraulic oil consumption by minimizing oil loss.
  • Act as the department's senior responsible person for fluid power permits, including 3-year reviews and training of authorized personnel.
  • Manage contract labor for maintenance activities during normal operation, down shifts, and major stops.
  • Maintain CRP hydraulic equipment accumulators and components to ensure PSSR compliance.
  • Manage maintenance records through the SAP system, maintaining a history of all maintenance tasks.
  • Develop upgrades and improvements to enhance reliability and combat equipment obsolescence issues, managing change through the Management of Change (MOC) database.
  • Procure labor, tools, mobile plant, and equipment as needed for planned maintenance tasks or events.
  • Review and author safe working procedures.
  • Conduct monthly departmental fluid power audits and report centrally.
  • Manage contract labor through PBS/CAT1 systems.
  • Perform safety audits as scheduled and on time.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess detailed knowledge of hydraulic and pressure systems maintenance, as well as extensive working experience in the same field.

A minimum HNC level 4 or equivalent qualification, typically obtained through a craft apprenticeship in mechanical engineering or a modern apprenticeship certificate, is preferred but not essential.

RSD Technology offers support for professional qualification development through an established internal development center.
