Envar specializes in the production and supply of premium soil enhancers, garden mulch, wood chips, and biomass materials.

We manage green waste composting facilities throughout England, including locations in Surrey, Northamptonshire, West London, Essex, Kent, and Suffolk, alongside our primary site in Cambridgeshire where we also handle food waste processing.


Role Overview:

The Environmental Compliance Manager oversees the application and modification of permits, ensuring the organization adheres to environmental regulations. This includes conducting mandatory reporting, coordinating necessary testing and inspections, and maintaining compliance with all permits.

This position is crucial for upholding regulatory standards and fostering ongoing enhancements.

The role involves generating reports, assessments, and proposals to facilitate planning and permitting decisions, including Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP), Operational Management Plans (OMP), and Best Available Techniques (BAT) assessments.

Limited reporting may also be required for other permits such as Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and Ofgem documentation.

Key Duties:

  • Evaluate and recommend suitable permits for relevant operations within the organization
  • Submit applications for approved permits, providing all necessary supporting documentation
  • Develop and enhance management systems and reports in collaboration with site and regional management
  • Coordinate the creation and delivery of specialized reports within set timelines
  • Review existing permits to ensure compliance
  • Organize and oversee required testing and inspections in accordance with permits and applicable measures
  • Report on non-compliance issues and implement recovery actions/mitigations
  • Create and develop documentation and reports to support the planning process as needed
  • Supervise other professionals and the production of specialized reports when necessary
