Associate Director of Environmental Impact Assessment

We are seeking a highly experienced Associate Director to lead our Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) team. The successful candidate will have extensive expertise in EIA management and coordination, including screening, scoping, and the preparation of Environmental Statements.

The Role

This is a senior leadership position that requires a deep understanding of the UK's planning system and related legislation. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of the current UK planning system, including the Development Consent Order (DCO) and Town and Country Planning Act (TCPA) processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead EIA projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Develop and implement EIA strategies that meet client needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate EIA teams, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Prepare and present EIA reports, statements, and other documentation to clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in UK planning legislation and regulatory requirements, ensuring our EIA services remain compliant and effective.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree or master's in environmental science or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in EIA management and coordination, including EIA planning and project management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide EIA teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex EIA information to clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Deep understanding of the UK's planning system and related legislation, including the DCO and TCPA processes.
