About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Energy Analyst to join our team at Northern Gas and Power. As an Energy Analyst, you will play a crucial role in understanding all aspects of flexible purchasing, including back office operations, policies, and procedures, as well as customer interactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Input prices from suppliers for Flexible contracts and compile the price comparison document.
  • Compile customer energy consumption analysis and monitor actual consumption against forecasted consumption.
  • Reconcile trades conducted and supplier position reports.
  • Create market reports and provide ad-hoc assistance to the trading team with daily, weekly, and monthly market reports.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables).
  • Clear understanding and interest in the UK energy markets.
  • Organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Highly numerate.
  • A self-motivated starter and a team player.
  • Confidence to challenge purchasing decisions.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in the Utilities/Energy industry.
  • Python, VBA, and SQL skills.
