Senior Credit Risk Analyst

Aspire Data Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join our team in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a range of analytical projects with minimal guidance, overseeing analytic developments for diversified portfolios and solutions across the European region.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain risk management strategies within account opening and account management systems to maximize returns and support operational teams.
  2. Optimize the use of statistical models in strategy design and generate fraud and underwriting referrals.
  3. Formulate business problems and translate them into actionable analytics plans, developing project plans and managing own projects.
  4. Liaise with key business stakeholders, understanding requirements and recommending appropriate analysis to drive projects to successful completion.
  5. Work closely with colleagues within the global analytics team and support offshore projects.
  6. Analyze trends, financial data, and company status to make informed decisions regarding complex credit issues.
Requirements:
  1. At least 3 years' experience in a similar analytical role, e.g., financial services, retail, energy, etc.
  2. Experience of using SAS and SQL.
  3. A degree in a numerical subject (desirable).
  4. Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt material and delivery style to technical and non-technical audiences.
  5. The willingness to mentor and guide junior analysts.
