We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our Perinatal Mental Health team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will play a vital role in providing specialist psychological assessment and treatment to women, their partners, and their infants, enabling them to live their best life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake complex assessments and consultancy, providing expert advice to the perinatal mental health multi-professional team.
  • Provide specialist treatment for complex cases, working collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement effective interventions.
  • Plan and prioritize your clinical workload, contributing to the development of policies and service improvements within the area psychological service.
  • Provide specialist supervision for trainee clinical psychologists and psychological guidance and supervision for multidisciplinary clinical colleagues.
  • Contribute to the development of an evidence-based research culture within the wider clinical team, working collaboratively with colleagues to design and implement research studies.

Person Specification

We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist with the following skills and experience:

  • Doctoral level training in applied psychology, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and neuropsychology.
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across full range of care settings, including mental health.
  • Further specialist training or experience while working as a clinical psychologist.
  • Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological methods and intervention.
  • Ability to teach and train others using a variety of complex multimedia materials.
