Position Overview

The North Midlands Breast Screening Service is dedicated to delivering a comprehensive breast screening program for the North Midlands population, utilizing both a Mobile Screening Unit and established Breast Units.

This role is pivotal in overseeing the administrative functions of the breast screening initiative, ensuring compliance with national guidelines while maintaining optimal staffing levels to deliver a high-quality service.

The successful candidate will act as the System Manager for the NBSS Computer System, taking personal responsibility for its operation, password management, and security protocols.

In collaboration with the Director of Screening and the Programme Manager, the incumbent will strategize future enhancements to the Breast Screening Services.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with the Programme Manager to facilitate effective administrative management in alignment with the program's objectives.

- Engage with the Regional Service Commissioner to provide updates on progress and seek guidance as necessary.

- Foster a leadership relationship with the administrative and clerical teams to ensure efficient service delivery.

- Implement a robust office administration system to guarantee maximum efficiency and a seamless flow of clients, documentation, and imaging results, ensuring timely communication of Mammography results within national targets.

- Establish a central administrative hub to support the organization and collection of essential data, integrating new technologies or modifications to the screening office operations as needed.

- Advise and coordinate the Breast Screening Service, particularly regarding the logistics of mobile unit operations, ensuring adherence to a three-year screening plan and meticulous planning of mobile unit movements to meet the 36-month Round Length target.

- Actively participate in the planning processes for Breast Screening in partnership with the Director of Screening and Programme Manager, setting work targets, defining objectives, and monitoring performance metrics.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Evidence of advanced study at the Master's level or equivalent experience.
