Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a fast-paced manufacturing company in Langwathby. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform reactive maintenance on medium and heavy plant machinery, including conveyors, mills, compactors, pelletizers, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, sensors, and relays.
  • Carry out mechanical maintenance (80%) and electrical maintenance (20%) to ensure optimal plant performance.
  • Conduct PPMs (Predictive Maintenance) to identify potential issues and prevent downtime.
  • Participate in line improvement tasks to enhance plant efficiency and productivity.
  • Use PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) to diagnose and resolve faults.
  • Read and work from electrical schematics to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Develop and implement solutions to reduce downtime and improve plant performance.
  • Apply root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and areas for improvement.
  • Drive a culture of PPM (Predictive Maintenance) to minimize downtime and maximize plant efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to set up machines and ensure optimal performance.
Requirements:
  • Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Mechanical qualifications from a recognized body.
  • NVQ level 3 or BTEC L3 or equivalent.
  • Electrical fault-finding skills.
  • PLC experience.
  • Machinery maintenance experience, including PPMs and reactive maintenance.
  • Both mechanical and electrical machinery maintenance experience.
  • FMCG or heavy industrial machinery experience.
  • Continuous improvement project experience.

Working Hours:
