Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join our team at Expleo. As a Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for managing all activities in line with Company, Customer, and project requirements, defining and implementing the Commissioning Strategy for the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Manage all activities in line with Company, Customer, and project requirements, defines and implements the Commissioning Strategy for the project.
  • Communication: Be the focal point for the Company, Customer, and sub-contractors.
  • Risk Management: Ensure all activities are planned, assessed, and managed so that risks or hazards are adequately identified and controlled to ensure compliance with relevant Company and Customer standards, expectations, rules, and procedures.
  • Quality Assurance: Set and uphold standards and expectations in line with Company initiatives such as People Who Do The Right Thing and People Who Lead Safely.
  • Resource Management: Organize and obtain sufficient resources to deliver the applicable work scope as described in the contract and/or project documentation.
  • Technical Oversight: Oversee the implementation of work to ensure that it meets the required technical and quality standards - hence delivered right first time.
  • Safety Management: Ensure suitable Safe Systems of Work (Risk Assessments, Methods Statements are produced so that supervisors and work teams can be effectively set to work, supervised, and are provided with adequate instruction and information so as to complete the work task safely.
  • Subcontractor Management: Manage and control sub-contractors where applicable.
  • Training and Competency: Review and assess training and competency records of personnel (including those of sub-contractors) to ensure that those assigned to undertake tasks are competent to do so.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports, information, and statistics to the Company and/or Customer to demonstrate performance against Safety, Quality, Time, and Cost criteria.
  • Inspections: Carry out regular workplace inspections to ensure compliance with relevant Company and Customer standards, expectations, rules, and procedures.
  • Incident Reporting: Immediately report any unplanned events or incidents in line with Company and Customer procedures.
  • Leadership: Leading Self: Is a role model, demonstrating the customer principles, promoting health, safety, and wellbeing, respect, and inclusion.
  • Leadership: Leading Others: Owns the performance and development of their team members, including effective and ongoing communication and feedback.
  • Leadership: Leading Resources: Responsible for effective planning and organization of resources to deliver on customer promises.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Vocational Qualification Level 6 / Bachelor's Degree / SVQ Level 4
  • Membership: Membership of an appropriate Engineering Institution
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 4 / HNC-HND / SVQ Level 3 augmented with specific experience
  • Membership: Membership of an appropriate Engineering Institution
  • Training: IOSH Managing Safely

Experience

  • Commissioning Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience as a Lead Commissioning Engineer or Commissioning Manager in a highly regulated environment. Nuclear, Energy, Petrochem, O&G sectors.
  • Commissioning Experience: Minimum 15 years' experience in a commissioning position working in a highly regulated environment. Nuclear, Energy, Petrochem, O&G sectors.
  • Team Management: Experience in managing a multi-discipline delivery team including completions, commissioning & handovers.
  • Document Management: Experience of document management and production of Commissioning documents including STW, FAT & SAT.
  • Communication: Comfortable working with suppliers, partners, clients, and stakeholders at various levels up to director level.
  • Specialization: Experience of Mechanical Completions systems would be preferential.
  • Project Management: Demonstrable experience of managing complex commissioning projects in a highly regulated environment (preferably Nuclear).

What We Offer

  • Security Clearance: Due to the nature of our business, we need all candidates to ideally be Security Cleared (SC) or have no issue in obtaining SC & DV. A prerequisite for DV is that the applicant is a UK National.
  • Working Arrangements: The candidate must be willing to work inside IR35.
  • Location: The position will be based at Warrington and initially will be Hybrid working but the candidate must be willing to work in Warrington a minimum of 2 days per work and be available for site & supplier ad-hoc visits plus final commissioning on site which would be full-time site-based.
