We are seeking a Lead Automation Testing Specialist who will play a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency, nurturing top talent, and influencing the future of our automation framework at bet365.

This position involves guiding a diverse team of Automation Testing Engineers with varying levels of expertise, while also supporting the daily operations of the team in collaboration with an existing team leader.

Your responsibilities will include coordinating with technical leads to prioritize and manage the workload across the automation testing team, serving as the primary contact for team-related personnel matters. You will be responsible for assessing quality and delivery, driving process enhancements, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the team.

The automation testing team has expanded significantly in recent years and now supports multiple frameworks utilizing various technologies, catering to all standard platforms.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the company's hybrid work-from-home policy.

Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Strong comprehension of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in both technical and non-technical contexts.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Prior experience in line management.
  • Familiarity with Test Automation Frameworks.
  • Experience with Jira workflows, processes, and reporting.
  • Solid understanding of Splunk dashboards.
  • Exposure to programming languages such as C#, Java, Selenium, Kotlin, and Swift.
  • Experience with GitLab, including merge requests and pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting regular one-on-one meetings to provide feedback on individual and team performance, offering recommendations for improvement, and managing absences.
  • Prioritizing and managing the Test Automation Jira queue, ensuring a manageable number of open issues at any given time.
  • Planning the delivery of Jira items based on available resources, considering concurrent automation activities and dependencies, and tracking progress to successful resolution.
  • Collaborating with developers, testing, and operations teams to ensure that any blockers are addressed promptly.
  • Working closely with the System Testing department to understand changes and transition manual test scripts into automated formats.
  • Ensuring adherence to the patching schedule.
