Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Reed Engineering. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform routine maintenance tasks on plant and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure maximum production efficiency.
  2. Respond promptly to breakdowns and perform repairs to minimize downtime.
  3. Install and relocate production equipment as required.
  4. Source and procure spare parts to maintain inventory levels.
  5. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and complete all necessary paperwork.
  6. Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  7. Conduct mechanical fault finding and repair to prevent equipment failure.
  8. Develop and implement improvements to production processes and equipment.
  9. Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Requirements
  1. Relevant mechanical qualification (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC HNC).
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft software and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  3. Experience working in a high-speed production environment.
  4. Knowledge of printing and carton manufacturing processes desirable.
  5. Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
Working Environment

This role requires a high level of physical and mental stamina, with regular overtime and shift work. You must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and management.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £42,500, with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, pension scheme, and paid time off.
