We are seeking a Lead Machine Learning Engineer to join our team and spearhead the integration of AI/ML technologies within our organization, enhancing our application with advanced AI-driven features.

Key Responsibilities

Our application, IELTS Flex, assists students in preparing for IELTS English language assessments. We have developed an AI model that evaluates student tests and delivers constructive feedback, proving to be significantly more effective than generic LLMs or ChatGPT. We invite you to take ownership of this model, optimizing its performance and exploring new, cutting-edge projects to further enhance the app's AI functionalities.

As the Lead Machine Learning Engineer, you will oversee all AI & ML initiatives within our organization. You will have access to a consultancy partner for additional resources, and we aim to expand a small team around you to drive further AI & ML projects. Your work will encompass the entire ML lifecycle, from research and ideation to deployment and post-deployment optimization.

Your projects will involve utilizing LLMs, NLP libraries such as spaCy and Hugging Face transformers, developing recommender systems, and researching speech-to-text and text-to-speech challenges as our business evolves.

Collaborating closely with our in-house software engineering team and the leadership group, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our technology and ensuring that IELTS FLEX delivers the best possible experience for our users and clients. With a growing user base exceeding 500,000, your contributions will significantly enhance their experience.

Qualifications Required

  • Extensive experience leading ML projects from conception to deployment
  • Strong expertise in LLMs & NLP
  • Familiarity with the Azure ecosystem
  • Proficient in Python development
  • Ability to translate research into commercial applications
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Collaborative team player with the capacity to work independently when needed
