Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has emerged within the Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy Department for a Band 4 Rehabilitation Specialist.

We are seeking an individual who can effectively:

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and appropriate therapy referrals
  • Identify and escalate cases with complex needs to qualified therapy professionals
  • Gather pertinent patient-specific information
  • Conduct basic assessments
  • Implement therapy interventions and advance the care of patients with non-complex needs
  • Maintain close communication with therapists, ward personnel, patients, and their families
  • Assist the ward team in developing foundational knowledge and skills in rehabilitation through supervision and training
  • Order necessary equipment as required
  • Actively participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, taking responsibility for planning personal work duties and managing a caseload.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Key Stage 2 English proficiency
  • Key Stage 2 Numeracy proficiency
  • Evidence of achieving or working towards a recognized qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3) to facilitate the implementation of prescribed rehabilitation programs for various conditions.

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Prior experience as a Band 3 therapy assistant
  • Experience in an acute hospital environment

Desirable

  • Experience in orthopaedics
  • Experience supervising team members

Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • Demonstrated effective time management skills
  • Ability to work independently
