Job Overview

A Securitas Security Officer plays a crucial role in delivering professional and meticulous security services for a variety of clients, which includes guarding, surveillance, and necessary interventions on a daily basis.

Operating on the premises of our defense sector client, you will be tasked with upholding security standards to the highest levels, striving to be a positive representative of Securitas while ensuring that the services provided meet exceptional standards. You will proactively engage in standard operating procedures and be prepared to respond to various security and safety threats or incidents.

Your responsibilities as a Security Officer will encompass:

  • Reporting to the onsite Supervisor; you will be stationed at a large facility for an international defense, aerospace, and security organization.
  • Playing a vital role in safeguarding critical information across air, maritime, land, and cyber domains.
  • Securely monitoring the property, including managing a static guardhouse and protecting company assets, as well as employees and visitors.
  • Conducting patrols throughout a large facility, walking both internal and external perimeters.
  • Remaining vigilant to identify and deter any suspicious or threatening behavior, maintaining control until authorities arrive.
  • Ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols, documenting and reporting any faults or hazards.
  • Utilizing radios and other physical security equipment utilized on site.
  • Conducting preliminary investigations and reporting incidents, suspicious activities, objects, and vehicles both verbally and in writing.

Essential Qualifications
  • Possession of a valid SIA license or willingness to obtain one through Securitas.
  • Holding a clean, full manual UK driving license.
  • Due to National Security requirements, applicants must be British born nationals.
  • Providing valid proof of right to work in the UK and passing security clearance.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter.
  • Clear communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
  • Ability to make timely and informed decisions that can be justified.
  • Maintaining a reasonable level of fitness, as walking and foot patrols are required.
  • A flexible and responsive approach to adapt to changing needs and urgencies.
  • A commitment to delivering high levels of customer service.
