Job Title: Graduate Systems Engineer

Location: Warton/Samlesbury

Start Date: 7th July 2025

BAE Systems offers a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Graduate Programme you will be required to attend your site 3-4 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.

About the Role

We have opportunities in Flight, Mission and General Systems disciplines. As a Graduate Engineer you will be able to bring your skills and knowledge into one of these domains, specialising or integrating across products and tools. You will have opportunities to work on different stages of a product lifecycle, you will take the lead in systems integration and testing, qualification and acceptance. As well as the technical aspects of projects, you will also learn to consider important factors such as schedules, costs, training, through life support whilst always considering safety and environmental concerns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the development of strategies to ensure that systems are designed and integrated so that they fully satisfy the customer and business needs/requirements.
  • Capturing and analysing requirements in order to understand the customer/business needs and the context in which the system will be used.
  • Supporting the design and optimisation of system architectures and solutions using system modelling techniques.
  • Facilitating successful integration of systems and sub-systems.
  • Determining the emergent properties of a system to support trade-offs, optimisation, risk reduction and testing.
  • Defining the verification and validation approach in order to achieve certification and acceptance of the system.
  • Supporting the identification of safety hazards and the assessment and mitigation of safety risk.
  • Providing systems engineering support to project and functional teams.
Requirements

As a minimum requirement you will need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2:2 in your Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aerospace related degree or any STEM subject.
