As a Senior Technical Advisor, your role will be pivotal in ensuring technical integrity and oversight as we implement our solutions into active operational environments for our diverse range of products serving our entire client base. You will be part of a dedicated team deploying NEC Software Solutions (NEC SWS) across various locations in the UK, Ireland, Europe, and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute build, commissioning, and upgrade tasks for NEC SWS DSX (ICCS), Vision & ControlWorks (CAD) product offerings.
- Resolve technical issues related to the NEC SWS product suite at both hardware and software levels.
- As necessary, develop, review, and refine NEC SWS engineering documentation, including work plans, instructions, and technical manuals.
- Present technical solutions to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Provide technical assurance across multiple projects through structured review meetings and ongoing collaboration with stakeholders, including technical sales, support, and engineering teams.
- Occasionally evaluate new product hardware and software in alignment with the product development roadmap.
- Engage with customers on both technical and non-technical matters, requiring a professional and adaptable communication style.
- Demonstrate a high level of independent work, emphasizing effective personal time and task management.
- Complete all tasks within designated timelines and communicate any challenges in meeting delivery objectives.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and attitude in all work-related activities.
Qualifications:
Who Are You?
- Preferably possess HND/HNC qualifications or equivalent industry experience with several years in a similar role.
- Experience in IT-focused server and client environments.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Demonstrated experience managing Microsoft Windows client and server systems (Windows 10 to Server 2019 and beyond), primarily with DELL/HP hardware.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and domain architecture.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation abilities.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Familiarity with design and documentation tools such as MS Visio, along with proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel and Word.
- Exceptional written communication skills.
- Proven experience in deploying Microsoft Windows and server operating systems.
- Working knowledge of MySQL/MSSQL (including backups and queries).
- Experience with virtualization environments (Hyper-V or VMware).
- Outstanding customer service capabilities.
- Experience adhering to ITIL best practices.
