Main Responsibilities
- Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans, collaborating with senior management.
- Coordinate procurement and site activities on a project basis.
- Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, recommending actions.
- Provide support to the management team.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Perform other reasonable duties as required.
- Train to Approved Person (AP) level in relation to Electrical Safety Rules (ESR) and Isolation Safety Rules (ISR) where applicable.
- Carry out the duties of the Approved Person (AP), meeting the respective technical standard.
- Write engineering specifications to generate enquiries.
- Develop detailed and accurate risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
- Conduct site surveys, taking measurements, photos, and gathering information on operations, processes, access, and egress.
- Resolve technical and logistical issues as they arise.
- Support site needs, materials, labor, resources, and plant.
- Drive and lead procurement of materials through creation and review of bills of materials.
- Evaluate, organize, and prioritize workload within the schedule.
- Attend client meetings.
- Liaise with clients.
- Regularly report project progress and updates to senior management.
- Manage defects and close out defects.
- Manage suppliers: day-to-day liaison with suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Assess supplier quotations.
- Manage programs: adherence to programs and report to management on any discrepancies.
- Prepare tenders, pass to management for review, and final sign-off.
- Attend supplier premises to inspect completed works.
- Deputize and take on line management duties of the supervisor/team leader as required.
- Ensure compliance with CDM & HSE regulations.
- Accurately set out and level works in accordance with drawing specifications.
- Deliver projects on time and within budget.
Requirements
- At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar Project Engineering role, preferably in an engineering or similar industry background.
- Qualification to degree level in an engineering discipline.
- Good understanding of the water and wastewater industry and processes.
- Ability to write detailed reports and have a clear understanding of the NEC form of contract.
- Full UK driving license, as travel to various sites across the country will be required.
