Main Responsibilities

As a Project Engineer at WGM Engineering Ltd, you will be responsible for developing project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans, and conferring with relevant management. You will also coordinate procurement and site activities on a project, preparing project status reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends, and recommending actions.

Key Tasks

  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends, and recommending actions.
  • Provide support to the management team.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Undertake site surveys, taking measurements, photos, and assessing access and egress.
  • Resolve technical and logistical issues as they arise.
  • Support the sites' needs, material, labour, resources, and plant.
  • Drive and lead procurement of materials through creation and review of bill of materials.
  • Evaluate, organise, and prioritise workload within the schedule.
  • Attend client meetings and liaise with clients.
  • Regularly report project progress and updates to Senior Management.
  • Defect management and close out of defects.
  • Supplier management: day-to-day liaison with suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Technical assessment of supplier quotations.
  • Programme management: adherence to programmes and report to management on any discrepancies.
  • Tendering: preparation of tenders, passing to management for review and final sign off.
  • Deputise and pick up line management duties of the supervisor/team leader where required.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM & HSE regulations.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you will have at least 2-3 years' previous experience within a similar Project Engineering role, ideally within an engineering or similar industry background. You will be ideally qualified to degree level within an engineering discipline. A good understanding of the water and waste water industry and processes is preferable. The ability to write detailed reports and have a clear understanding of NEC form of contract is required within the role. Due to the nature of the role, a full UK driving license is required as there will be travel to various sites across the country.
