AWE is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Environment and Sustainability to lead our organization's environmental strategy and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a comprehensive environmental strategy and sustainability plan aligned with AWE's overall business objectives.
- Lead the development of policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure effective implementation of environmental and sustainability initiatives across the organization.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Environment and Sustainability team to ensure the successful delivery of projects and programs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the Environment Agency regulator.
- Ensure the development of a strategic workforce plan to meet current and future capability needs in Environment and Sustainability.
- Proven experience in environmental strategy and sustainability leadership, with a strong track record of delivering results.
- Chartered Environmentalist (Energy Institute) and/or a member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) (practitioner) qualification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
