Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer with active Security Clearance (SC) to join our client on an initial 6 month+ contract basis.

In this role, you will be instrumental in planning, managing, and maintaining detailed schedules for large-scale construction and defence programmes.

Your work will ensure that these critical projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and on time, adhering to the highest standards of security and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard planning tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and key stakeholders to align project schedules with overall objectives and deliverables.
  • Monitor project timelines, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies to prevent delays.
  • Provide detailed progress reports, highlighting critical path activities, and recommending corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure that all scheduling activities comply with security protocols and safety regulations, particularly within defense-related environments.
  • Support the integration of planning activities across multiple projects, ensuring consistency and alignment with overall programme goals.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Planning Engineer in construction and/or defence or government programmes.
  • Active Security Clearance (SC) is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in project planning software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including risk management, cost control, and resource allocation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in high-security environments and adhere to strict compliance standards.
