Job Title: Air Condition Engineer

This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across several site locations. You will be the first line in all service and maintenance throughout your allocated sites. To effectively maintain service and repair Refrigeration Equipment in customer locations and provide assistance to HVAC equipment containing refrigeration circuits.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prioritize maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
  2. Participate on an out of hours standby rota and arrange communication of any cover required due to holidays/unforeseen circumstances to line manager.
  3. Notify the company helpdesk of procedural task condition on cessation of works.
  4. Advise the GSMs of any repair, maintenance, and installation issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store and build rapport to promote the spirit of partnership with all GSM's.
  5. Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by the refrigeration supervisor/RFM.
  6. Complete all work to the highest standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid-down Company Health and Safety policy.
  7. Attend training courses as necessary and ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical and business developments.
  8. Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and the company's Health and Safety Policy at all times.
Requirements:

Essential:

  1. Suitable Maths & English qualification
  2. Time Served Apprenticeship
  3. NVQ/C&G Refrigeration Based Qualification
  4. Approved Training Program
  5. Refrigerant Handling C&G 2079 or equivalent CITB certificate
  6. Skill Card
  7. Knowledge of Refrigeration, Electrical, Air Conditioning, Mechanical
  8. Ability to Read Drawings
  9. Ability to work at heights
  10. Competent in the use of Access Equipment
  11. Current Full driving licence essential
  12. Available for Out of Hours Working
  13. Participation in Standby Rota
  14. Suitable Personal Tool Kit

Desirable:

  1. Previous experience, post apprenticeship
  2. City or Others Accredited Future Legislation
  3. Hydrocarbon refrigerant certification
  4. GCSE
  5. BS7671 (IEE 16/17th)
  6. Commercial/Supermarket
  7. Machine Overhaul Skills
  8. Electrical & Engineering knowledge
  9. BSEN 378 (BS4434)
