Cyber Security Senior Analyst Position

The Cyber Operations team at NHS England is responsible for building the organization's cyber resilience and enabling the wider health system to be cyber resilient. As a Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting this purpose by leading on the management of serious and complex cyber security investigations.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to communicate complex concepts to a range of stakeholders, and have a strong understanding of the cyber threat landscape. You will lead on process improvement work within the Incident Management team and act as a Cyber Security subject matter expert.
Key responsibilities include managing serious and complex cyber security investigations, writing and developing documentation such as playbooks and user guides, and gathering and managing large volumes of information from various sources during an investigation.
You will also support Incident Managers and Junior Incident Managers with their investigations, act as a second-tier escalation point for analysts within the CSOU, and manage and resolve more complex enquiries.
Additionally, you will manage Cyber Incident Response teams deployed during a cyber security incident, run and chair blended calls during a Cyber Security Incident, and ensure standards by reviewing security tickets created by analysts and Incident Managers within the CSOU.
The successful candidate will have a post-graduate degree or equivalent level of experience in cyber security, with demonstrable knowledge of technologies and technology-based solutions dealing with information security issues.
They will also have expert knowledge of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and be able to utilize related applications to protect organizational networks from cyber risks.
The salary for this role is £64,506 to £72,604 per year, and the contract is permanent with a full-time working pattern.
This role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
