SSA Recruitment is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Birmingham. Key Responsibilities:- Provide commercial support to project teams, including maintaining commercial information and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
- Liaise with customer representatives and other third parties on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims, and additional payments.
- Ensure robust, accurate, and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business levels.
- Carry out cost management, including forecasting, and update the monthly CVR, cost, and commercial plans.
- Help ensure that internal commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit and actively seek to improve processes and procedures.
- Be responsible for subcontract letting, negotiation, and financial accounting, as well as preparing applications for payment and liaising with clients on commercial issues.
- Contribute towards effective interactions between the Commercial Team and operational site teams, work with site management to forecast predicted spend and cash recovery, and ensure that both are kept in line with target.
- Previous experience in the construction industry.
- HND/ Degree (or equivalent in Quantity Surveying).
- Familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract and knowledge of Construction Law.
- Previous experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors.
- Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis.
- Knowledge and experience in estimation and cost analysis.
