Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of women and children affected by gender-based violence? Solace Women's Aid is seeking a dedicated Community Engagement Specialist to join our mission-driven team.

About Us:

At Solace Women's Aid, we strive to eliminate the impact of gender-based violence. Our holistic approach focuses on prevention and providing tailored services to meet the unique needs of survivors, particularly women and children. We are committed to an intersectional feminist framework that emphasizes empowerment, diversity, and anti-discrimination.

Role Overview:

The Community Engagement Specialist will lead initiatives that raise awareness of violence against women and girls (VAWG) while establishing a Pan-London advisory board of 'Experts By Experience'. This role involves co-producing and delivering training for professionals to enhance their understanding and response to the needs of minority young women and girls at risk. Additionally, the Specialist will engage in outreach efforts in non-traditional settings to connect with vulnerable youth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate VAWG awareness and resilience-building programs.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for various stakeholders.
  • Conduct outreach in diverse environments to reach at-risk populations.
  • Support the empowerment of young women and girls through education on VAWG issues.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners to promote intersectional practices.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the VAWG landscape and the challenges faced by young women and girls from black and minoritized backgrounds. Experience in developing and delivering training programs is essential, along with a commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive environments.

We value interpersonal skills, a proactive approach, and a dedication to continuous improvement. Your ability to connect with service users and adapt to new challenges will be crucial in this role.

What We Offer:

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible working arrangements, professional development opportunities, generous holiday entitlement, and wellness initiatives.

Join us in our mission to empower women and children and create a safer community for all.
