Position Summary:


As a Smart Building Systems Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to design, implement, and maintain sophisticated building automation systems.

Your role will focus on ensuring that facilities are outfitted with cutting-edge technology to maximize energy efficiency, security, and overall operational effectiveness.


Key Duties:

System Design and Execution:
Formulate and execute control system strategies for HVAC, lighting, and various building systems.
Create control system schematics and develop specifications for smart building technologies.
Program and configure building management systems (BMS) and associated equipment.

Installation and Commissioning:
Supervise the installation and commissioning of control systems in both new and existing facilities.
Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure adherence to design specifications and standards.
Conduct site inspections and system testing to confirm proper operation and functionality.

Maintenance and Technical Support:
Deliver ongoing technical support and maintenance for installed systems.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to control systems and equipment.
Perform regular system updates to ensure all software and firmware are current.

Client Engagement:
Collaborate with clients to comprehend their requirements and provide customized solutions.
Offer training and support to building operators and facility managers.
Maintain robust customer relationships to ensure client satisfaction.

Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all activities comply with relevant health and safety regulations.
Stay informed about industry standards and regulatory requirements to guarantee compliance.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

Experience:
Demonstrated experience in building automation and control systems.
Familiarity with HVAC systems, lighting controls, and energy management systems.
Experience with BMS platforms such as Trend, Tridium, Schneider, Siemens, or Johnson Controls.

Technical Proficiencies:
Expertise in control system programming and configuration.
Strong grasp of networking and communication protocols utilized in building automation (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).
Knowledge of relevant software and tools for system design and diagnostics.

Interpersonal Skills:
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
