Job Title: Medical Device Engineering Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Device Engineering Specialist to join our Clinical Engineering section at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Job Overview

The Medical Equipment Management Service (MEMS) is responsible for medical device management across the organisation, including planning the replacement of medical equipment, technical support for patient safety, device connectivity, research and innovation, asset register management and the management of external maintenance contracts.

Main Responsibilities
  • Contribute to all aspects of Clinical Engineering, including device safety and inventory management.
  • Plan and execute cost-effective procurement and support of medical devices in the Trust.
  • Manage equipment deployment into clinical service, including the planning of ongoing maintenance provision.
  • Support the Trust response to medical equipment related safety alerts.
  • Provide engineering advice and support to consultant, clinical, scientific and technical staff on highly complex issues involving medical devices.
Person Specification
  • 1st or 2nd class degree in a relevant subject.
  • Masters degree in Medical Engineering [or equivalent].
  • Registration as a Clinical Scientist with the Health and Care Professions Council (or registration achievable within 12 months).
  • Post-graduate qualification related to medical device management.
