About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Officer to join our Commercial and Licensing Team at Cambridge City Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that we secure the relevant standards in relation to all licensed premises and taxi licensing in accordance with legislation and service policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process applications for licenses and permits
  • Conduct inspections of licensed premises and vehicles
  • Investigate complaints and ensure compliance with licensing conditions
  • Deal with statutory nuisance from commercial premises and outdoor events
  • Contribute to the improvement of the nighttime economy in the city
Requirements
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prepare and write reports
  • Experience of working with the public and carrying out investigations
  • Knowledge of current legislation and practice

Working Arrangements

This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week. Although the role is advertised as full-time, we are open to discussing different working patterns with the right candidate.

You will be able to balance your work location accordingly, working in Cambridge on site or at one of our offices or working from home.
