Job Title: Senior Technical Officer

Cambridge City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Officer to join our Commercial and Licensing Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that licensed premises and taxi licensing in Cambridge meet the required standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process applications and conduct inspections of licensed premises and vehicles
  • Investigate complaints and ensure compliance with licensing conditions
  • Deal with statutory nuisance from commercial premises and outdoor events
  • Contribute to the improvement of the nighttime economy in Cambridge
Requirements:
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience of working with the public and carrying out investigations
  • Knowledge of current legislation and practice
