Working Hours:

Full-time: Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM (including a 30-minute lunch break)

Role Summary:

We are seeking a Heavy Goods Vehicle Trainer to join our team at Arnold Clark. With over 50 years of expertise in driver education, you will be instrumental in preparing students to meet DVSA testing standards. Your responsibilities will include conducting practical driving evaluations and managing course documentation with precision.

The ideal candidate will possess a valid Category C & E driving license with a minimum of three years of experience. While prior experience in a training capacity is advantageous, it is not mandatory. You will participate in our Instructor Training program, receiving two to four weeks of comprehensive training based on your background. This position is well-suited for current LGV drivers looking for a new opportunity or seasoned trainers eager to embrace a fresh challenge with Arnold Clark.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing daily inspections on training vehicles.
  • Conducting driving assessments.
  • Instructing candidates on various vehicle types (C1, C, C+E, and PCV, if qualified).
  • Delivering Module 4 (initial DCPC) training.
  • Completing all necessary course documentation.
  • Collaborating with transport administrators and senior trainers.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must hold a minimum of a Category C and E license for over three years.
  • Strong communication abilities and a patient demeanor.
  • High level of accuracy and good literacy skills for documentation.
  • Confidence in engaging with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Excellent time management and a professional appearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a driver training setting is beneficial, although full training will be provided.

Possession of an RTITB Forklift Instructor qualification and a PCV license is desirable, but training will be available for the right candidate.

Employment with Arnold Clark is contingent upon satisfactory references and background checks.
