Job Summary

Filtronic PLC is seeking a highly skilled Design Analysis Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for the design of RF and Microwave Filters and Sub-systems, ensuring that electrical performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop RF and Microwave Filters and Sub-systems, including simulation, prototyping, and validation.
  • Contribute to Research and Development into next-generation filter solutions.
  • Support sales functions during the quotation phase, including technical correspondence with customers.
  • Compile and check design documentation, including design logbooks, data packs, and peer reviews.
  • Deliver fully verified and documented designs in line with project-defined technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Prepare and review tollgate documentation, ensuring compliance with the NPI procedure.
  • Participate in design reviews and initiate reviews to mitigate risk when appropriate.
  • Undertake design verification and validation, including test specifications, test reports, and reliability testing/evaluation.
  • Maintain a comprehensive design compliance matrix, referencing robust evidence of compliance data for assigned designs.
  • Problem-solve and diagnose manufactured products during product introduction, including definition and train-out of diagnostic procedures.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree (or equivalent) in RF/Communications Engineering.
  • Experience using RF design tools, such as Microwave Office, and CST.
  • 5+ years of experience in Microwave Filter design, including tolerance/yield analysis and DFM.
  • Hands-on experience with tuning filters using VNA's, power handling, and temperature tests.
  • Ability to achieve UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
