Job Overview

**Professional Development Manager (Apprenticeships)**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a creative and innovative individual, with a passion for Apprenticeships, to join the Professional Development team in a full-time substantive post. In this role, you will manage the clinical student apprenticeship agenda, ensuring that all clinical apprenticeship students are supported and receive appropriate clinical placements in line with regulatory requirements.

You will support the recruitment and monitoring of clinical apprenticeship students in partnership with Higher Education Institutions, NHS England and the Integrated Care System.

Main Duties of the Job

  1. Manage the clinical student apprenticeship recruitment processes ensuring the recruitment of high calibre healthcare apprentice students, utilising and adhering to the appropriate internal and external processes and governance requirements.
  2. Work in partnership with the Higher Education Institutions to ensure the recruitment of the appropriate healthcare apprentice students.

Job Responsibilities

You will be working in partnership with your colleagues within the Professional Development team, with key individuals within the divisions and with aligned post holders across the Integrated Care System in order to provide an evidence-based approach to delivering and managing the clinical apprenticeship student agendas.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Training

  • Registered clinician
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent
  • Educated to Master's degree level or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development

Experience

  • Relevant experience of working with clinical apprenticeship students, Practice Assessors, and Clinical Educators across Nursing and Allied Healthcare Professions
  • Relevant experience of clinical placement management

Skills & Knowledge

  • Relevant experience of working with Higher Education Institutions
  • Relevant experience of managing and developing appropriate clinical student databases

Personal Qualities

  • Ability to handle sensitive and complex information
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • High level of IT Literacy including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • High level of negotiating and influencing skills

Other Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of academic curriculum management
  • High level of clinical judgement
