Job Title: Adult Mental Health Practitioner

Senior Mental Health Practitioner - STICK Team - Early Help Mental Health. CAMHS

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our STICK team, part of Forward Thinking Birmingham. As a key member of our team, you will work with children and young people aged 5-18 years old, providing assessment and individual and group mental health interventions. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping us achieve our goal of providing early help and support to prevent the need for secondary care.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work with a caseload of children and young people, providing therapeutic brief interventions within schools and educational settings.
  • Collaborate with STICK colleagues to develop and deliver creative interventions and support groups.
  • Contribute to the development of therapeutic resources and training programs for professionals and non-professionals.
  • Participate in research and development initiatives to improve mental health services for children and young people.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RSCN, RMN, RNLD), Therapist (must be accredited), Occupational Therapist, or registered social worker.
  • Significant experience working with children and young people in a health, educational, or social care setting.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with vulnerable children, parents, and carers.
  • Understanding of normal stages of child development and knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
