Payroll Manager Position

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team at Gleeson Recruitment Group. As a key member of our HR and Talent department, you will be responsible for leading a team of payroll administrators and managing the monthly payroll process for over 1500 UK and Ireland-based employees.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a team of 2 payroll administrators to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll.
- Oversee the monthly payroll process, including auditing and reconciliations.
- Stay up-to-date with payroll-related changes and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the payroll service.
- Mentor and develop the payroll team to achieve business outcomes and performance targets.
- Respond to payroll escalations and resolve any issues.
- Ensure high levels of customer service are maintained.
- Report on payroll costs and reconciliations for the finance team.
- Extensive experience in leading and delivering a fully 'in-house' UK payroll service in excess of 1,000 headcount.
- Proven track record of developing and leading a team of payroll clerks.
- Good knowledge of Payroll & Auto Enrolment Legislation.
- CIPP qualification or equivalent experience.
- Highly numerate with ability to collate, display and interpret data.
- Proactive approach to work, able to problem solve and drive resolution.
- Deadline driven and able to deal with volume work in pressurised situations.
- A competitive salary of £40-50,000pa.
