As an Assessing Social Worker within our Fostering Service, you will play a crucial role in our mission to empower children to achieve independence while ensuring their safety and well-being. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Recruiting, evaluating, and monitoring the ongoing suitability and effectiveness of foster carers, which encompasses conducting information sessions, screening calls, initial inquiries, home visits, training sessions, and participating in fostering panels.
- Promoting the fostering service to enhance community engagement.
- Completing assessments in a timely manner while being sensitive to the needs of prospective foster carers.
- Conducting thorough assessments to identify suitable foster carers for children, guided by a clear understanding of each child's needs and the skills required to support them effectively.

About Our Organization
The London Borough of Sutton Children's Services fosters a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for its Qualified Social Work staff. We provide specialized support for challenging cases, regular structured supervision, and an environment that encourages participation and values every voice.
Our Locality Teams deliver social work services to children and young people in the Borough, working collaboratively with relevant agencies, children, and their families.
