Job Title: Highway Development Control Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Highway Development Control Specialist to join our team at W P RECRUITMENT HR LTD. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on highway development control, processing and assessing planning applications, and managing detailed records for all schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with local authorities, external organizations, developers, and the public to provide pre-application highways advice.
  • Process and assess the highways elements of planning applications, including site visits and working to deadlines.
  • Attend committee meetings and planning appeals.
  • Process and assess Highway Agreement applications.
  • Manage detailed records for all schemes, including legal and financial agreements.
  • Conduct technical reviews and analysis of existing network capacity and safety.
  • Assist in the maintenance of highway adoption, highways search, and street naming/numbering processes.
  • Ensure adherence to highways regulations and health and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in highways or planning development control/design, including knowledge of the Highways Act and CDM legislation.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team with high-level communication skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and be flexible with duties.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Full driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree-level qualification in planning or civil engineering.
