At PA Housing, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Safeguarding Officer to join our team. As a key member of our safeguarding team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and rights of vulnerable individuals are protected.

As the Safeguarding Officer, you will work closely with the Safeguarding Manager to deliver an outstanding service to our residents. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Immersing yourself in the resident experience, anticipating their requirements, and taking proactive steps to meet their needs.
  • Assessing incoming referrals, directing clients to additional services, and offering support.
  • Providing advocacy, emotional, practical support, and information to victims, including legal and civil options, housing, health, and finance.
  • Working within a multi-agency framework to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.
  • Proactively evaluating the needs and safety of any children associated with residents using the service, addressing identified risks or needs directly, and taking necessary steps to safeguard them.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • At least 3 years' experience in successfully managing safeguarding cases in a housing or local authority environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices pertaining to safeguarding adults and children.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in crafting complex reports.
  • Extensive experience of supporting and advocating on behalf of domestic abuse survivors.
  • A good knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures, and legislation.
