Position Summary: We are in search of a qualified and experienced Technical Manager to collaborate closely with our directors and senior management team. This role involves leading, supervising, and delivering a high-caliber technical support service to a diverse clientele, including specifiers, architects, designers, registered installers, and other external stakeholders, as well as to internal departments and colleagues. The position is primarily based at our head office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and ensure the availability of an efficient office-based technical service to support both external and internal clients, with a distinct emphasis on risk management to satisfy customer and business requirements.
  • Lead the technical team in conducting U-value and condensation risk assessments utilizing proprietary software, while developing a solid understanding of the software.
  • Supervise the creation, production, and distribution of CAD drawings and Sketch-up details in collaboration with the CAD Technician.
  • Direct the team in producing written specifications for PermaRock Systems tailored to specific project needs.
  • Manage and deliver technical support services via telephone, email, and video conferencing to clients.
  • Maintain and enhance a comprehensive CAD/BIM detail library along with document control procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to non-conformance and customer complaint protocols, operating in line with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Guarantee timely reporting in accordance with established procedures and content requirements.
  • Participate in site meetings and inspections, keeping detailed notes and reports as necessary.
  • Conduct or facilitate technical training sessions for both external and internal clients as required.
  • Stay informed about new product developments internally and within the competitive landscape.
  • Monitor future market trends, legislative changes, and standards to ensure ongoing compliance with Building Regulations for PermaRock Systems.
  • Support the development and enhancement of current and future product and system offerings.
  • Ensure all tasks are performed safely and in compliance with the Company's Health and Safety policies.
  • Confirm compliance with PAS 2030 / 2035, NIA, SWIGA, and NHBC requirements as necessary.
  • Manage both internal and external technical information sources, including the technical library and website, in conjunction with the Marketing Manager.
  • Assist in marketing initiatives and website development, including CPD materials and product literature.
  • Represent the company at trade associations and industry technical committees when appropriate.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies and practices, ideally with experience in both new builds and retrofitting, along with familiarity in the decarbonisation sector as it relates to external wall insulation.

The successful applicant will have or quickly acquire a solid grasp of relevant UK Building Regulations, PAS 2030 / 2035 Requirements, NHBC Standards, and third-party Product Certifications (e.g., BBA, Kiwa).
