Job Title: ICU/ITU Nurse

Epic Travel Staffing is seeking a skilled ICU/ITU Nurse to join our team for a 16-week assignment in a 5-bed CVICU. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in cardiac surgery and be proficient in administering care to critically ill patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced CVICU environment
  • Administer medications, perform diagnostic tests, and develop patient care plans
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest medical advancements
Requirements:
  • VA License
  • At least 1 year experience in cardiac surgery
  • Dysrhythmia required (study guide available)
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • TNCC preferred
  • PCCN preferred
  • CCRN preferred
  • TCRN preferred
  • NIH preferred
  • RN-BC Registered Nurse – Board Certified preferred
  • Education Bachelor of Science Nursing preferred
  • 6 months RN experience in a Med/Surg, Critical Care, Stepdown, or Emergency Department Unit preferred
  • Training EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training preferred
  • Critical Care Course preferred

The CVICU is a 5-bed unit that provides care to critically ill patients recovering from cardiothoracic conditions or events. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a CVICU environment and be proficient in administering care to patients with complex medical needs. The unit is equipped with the latest technology, including ventilators, bipap, and CRRT, and the patient population is underserved with multiple chronic co-morbidities.
