Position Overview


You will oversee a variety of utility infrastructure initiatives. These projects necessitate a cooperative strategy among the project manager, framework consultants/contractors, construction teams, operational divisions, and numerous stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the entire project lifecycle by collaborating with strategic and operational sponsors to define project objectives and expected business outcomes.
  • Accountable for crafting the comprehensive project plan within the delivery framework, including steering reviews and securing budget approvals.
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders (both internal and external) to ensure their needs are integrated into the design framework.
  • Comply with all applicable legislation and best practices related to project and design management, facilitating optimal design outcomes that align with project goals.
  • Deliver regular project updates and reports to various stakeholders in a manner that is accessible to all groups involved.
  • Identify and manage risks proactively, ensuring that mitigation strategies are established and responsibilities assigned.
  • Generate NEC contract documentation and ITT packages, including project scope, works, and site information for subsequent tendering.
  • Fulfill the role of Project Manager as defined under the NEC suite of contracts.
  • Develop project budgets and oversee financial management against these budgets.
  • Create work breakdown structures and maintain project schedules using MS Project.
  • Review and interpret CAD drawings and technical specifications.
Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A BSc/BEng (or higher) in a relevant technical field (Infrastructure/Civils/MEICA) or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management Qualification from APM or demonstrable project management experience with a commitment to progress towards MAPM.
  • A minimum of 3 years of proven experience managing and delivering utility infrastructure projects from inception through feasibility, design, and implementation to completion, utilizing the NEC suite of contracts, with a solid understanding of current legislation, technical standards, and specifications.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with NEC contracts.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current CDM2015 Regulations and relevant Health & Safety Legislation.
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 and MS Project.
  • Strong background in liaising with Engineering Consultants and Contractors.
  • Possession of a full driving license and access to transport.
