NHS Lothian Pharmacy & Medicines Service is a leading provider of pharmacy services, committed to delivering high-quality patient care and improving health outcomes. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacy Support Worker to join our dispensary and distribution teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Receiving and processing medicines
  • Managing stock control and inventory
  • Assembling stock orders for wards and departments
  • Dispensing prescriptions for inpatients, outpatients, and discharge
  • Performing administrative duties

The post holder will rotate between the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Pharmacy Distribution and Lauriston, Chalmers, and Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion dispensaries.

The ideal candidate will possess a Pharmacy Services group award at SCQF Level 6 and have relevant work experience in a healthcare or pharmacy environment. They will also have knowledge of workplace standards in relation to pharmacy business.

This role requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership or record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group, they will need to apply to Disclosure Scotland and meet the necessary requirements before commencing in the position.
