Position Overview

We are actively searching for a skilled Cost Estimator to join our team at Solution Recruitment Ltd, specializing in scaffolding projects.

Key Responsibilities

As a Cost Estimator, your primary duties will include managing the successful execution of various scaffolding contracts from the moment they are awarded until the final billing phase. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Negotiating contract stipulations to ensure they align with project specifications, pricing schedules, and the management of financial risks.
  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with clients, suppliers, team members, and all relevant stakeholders.
  • Tracking project advancement and addressing any challenges that may arise, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Collaborating effectively with project managers and site supervisors to guarantee that projects are delivered within budget and according to the client’s timeline.
  • Maintaining precise documentation of change orders, variations, and project updates.
  • Preparing timely payment requests in accordance with contractual agreements and conducting internal cost value reconciliations (CVR).
  • Staying informed about estimating and tendering processes, as well as valuing completed work.
  • Accurately predicting expected revenue for projects under your financial oversight.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites for work evaluations and account discussions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in a Cost Estimator role within the scaffolding or construction sector (specific scaffolding experience is not mandatory).
  • Preferably, a solid understanding of scaffolding systems, materials, and operational methodologies.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to effectively evaluate project costs and quantities to assist in pricing adjustments and work valuation.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with the broader Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
