About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Thames Water. As an Electrical Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and diagnose complex electrical faults and carry out repairs to minimize downtime and ensure the smooth operation of our water production sites.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, testing, and repairs of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify and implement improvements to our electrical systems and processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and ensure that all electrical work is carried out in accordance with relevant safety protocols and regulations.
  • Participate in a standby rota to provide emergency support and respond to electrical faults and emergencies.
Requirements
  • 18th Edition electrical City and Guilds certification is essential.
  • Significant experience in electrical systems, preferably in a multi-skilled capacity.
  • NVQ or City & Guilds level 3 in mechanical engineering would be an advantage.
  • Experience in inspecting, maintaining, fault diagnosis, testing, installation, modifying or repairing electrical plant equipment.
  • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues relevant to the industry.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and willingness to complete appropriate training.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.
